Film Entry Regulations

Q! Film Festival accepts films and videotapes with homosexual or AIDS content. Any VHS/DVD tapes sent to us will not be returned (unless it is in 35mm, 16mm or BETACAM) and will be kept as our archives. Any entries are subject to selection process (unless it is invited by the programmers).

Q-Lik Audience Award

The Audience are the jury. Q! Film Festival will not give any money prize but a unique award.  The Awards will be given to Best Feature, Best Documentary, and Best Short.  

DEADLINE

The Deadline for film submission is closed this year. We will inform you as soon as possible about the film selection.

APPLICATION FORM

There is no application form. Please enclose a press kit as full as possible, including photos and poster, is strongly encouraged with the submission and will be required upon acceptance. Once a film is submitted for entry, it may not be withdrawn.

ELEGIBLE FORMATS

Acceptable formats for exhibition include: DVD, BETACAM SP (Only PAL) and VHS tapes (PAL or NTSC). Depending on the country of origin there might be a possibility to screen in 35mm, and 16 mm format.

PREVIEW TAPES

Only DVD (Any region) and VHS tapes (PAL or NTSC) are accepted for preview screenings. All preview tapes should be labeled, on both the tape and the case, with the title, filmmakers name, address and phone number.   

PROMOTION

Programmed works may be excerpted (up to 4 minutes) for TV and other promotional purposes or may be selected for press screenings. Photos and slides supplied by the makers may be used for promotional reasons or for the Festival program. Q! Film Festival must be notified in writing of any press or photo restrictions.

SHIPPING

Shipment of exhibition materials to Q! Film Festival must be paid for by the applicant. Return shipping (Only for 35mm, 16mm, and Betacam SP) will be covered by the festival or its sponsor. All film reels, cans, videotapes and cases must be labeled with the title of the film and the contact details.

RESPONSABILITY

Q! Film Festival cannot accept nor assume responsability for damage or loss of materials while in transit. In case of loss or damage during the festival, the responsability of the organization is limited to the cost for repairing or replacement of the print. Q! Film Festival does not pay additional charges for originals, masters or special prints.
